Glytone by Enerpeel® Salicylic Acid Peel can be used to decrease the symptoms of oily, blemish-prone skin impacted by whiteheads, blackheads, papules and pustules. It provides an exfoliating effect.
Salicylic Acid, a Beta-Hydroxy Acid (BHA), is a highly effective superficial peeling agent, oil reducer and pore cleanser. Salicylic acid is one of the most effective ingredients to combat oily skin, yet it is also a gentle rejuvenating peel that is an alternative to a Glycolic Acid Peel.
You might recognize salicylic acid as a common acne-fighting ingredient. Generally, solutions made with this ingredient contain around 2% concentration. This is because salicylic acid solutions are often used daily, and high concentrations can irritate the skin too much if used daily. But in peel form and when used at the proper frequency, a salicylic acid peel can work wonders on your skin. At a concentration of 10 to 30%, a salicylic acid peel has a much higher level of concentration than drugstore salicylic acne creams. At a high concentration level, salicylic acid acts as a peeling agent dissolving the top layer of the epidermis and resurfacing the skin, resulting in a smoother and healthier complexion.
Salicylic acid is ideal for oily/acneic skin, clogged pores and seborrheic dermatitis. A Salicylic Acid Peel is also beneficial for dehydrated/dry and sensitive skin, sun damaged, dull and uneven skin. And it helps reduce acne inflammation, psoriasis, ingrown hairs, wrinkles and fine lines while improving texture and clarity.

After skin is cleansed and primed with Glytone ENERPEEL ® Technology Preparatory Solution Wipes, apply the peel solution using the brush applicator. Peel solution can be applied in multilayers. Leave on for 3 to 5 minutes depending on patient reaction. Frequently assess the patient’s discomfort and constantly monitor for redness, pain and undesired frosting of the skin. Patient’s discomfort should be assessed using a verbal scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most hot and painful. If you observe undesired frosting, increasing redness or a discomfort level of 6 or higher, discontinue application and proceed to removal with Glytone ENERPEEL ® Technology Remover Wipes. Note: from 1 minute of application, a white precipitate of salicylic acid should appear due to evaporation of the solution. This should not be confused with “frosting”. Patients should wait a minimum of 2 hours before contact with water and avoid strenuous exercise on the day of the procedure. Apply a thin layer of a skin recovery cream (Glytone Soothing Lipid Recovery Cream) after neutralization. Application should continue for 3-5 days following the chemical peel. Use a sunscreen (Glytone Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 40) for 7 days after the procedure.
